[edit] Before Season 1
Hillary's reputation as a slut began during her 8th grade trip to Tacoma. The exact details of the trip were never elaborated on.

Hillary attended Declan's party with Lori where she witnessed Kyle defeat officer Wolner. She compare Kyle to Jackie Chan the next day and told Declan that Lori and Kyle were an item. Lori later set the record straight.
At Jeff Preston's party, Lori called Hillary a slut immediately after having sex with Declan, immediately destroying their friendship. At school, Lori tried to have conversation about a girl named Nadine Velasquez, but Hillary repeatedly ignored her.
The decided to put their feud aside as they realized it wasn't worth it. In Overheard, Hillary told Lori and Amanda that she had a new boyfriend, but wouldn't say who. It was later revealed to be Charlie, Amanda's boyfriend.
At Kyle's going away party, Hillary found out Charlie was only using her for physical needs. In response, Hillary splashed soda in his face. Lori comforted her.

Hillary and Lori decided to revirginize in and effort to avoid being voted biggest slut. She and Lori convinced Amanda not to have sex with Charlie. Hillary later told the reason after Charlie was voted biggest slut.
Later, Hillary joined Andy Jensen in her protest against Principal Hooper's rule against same-sex couple at the dance. She kissed Lori only to infuriate Charlie, which worked perfectly.
At the Cancer Charity event, Hillary, along with her cameraman, went around documenting the competition. Hillary called it investigative journalism, but Lori called it gossiping. Lori enlisted Hillary's help in finding dirt on Jessi, but would up finding out that Josh Trager cheated himself into the competition.
Hillary told Andy, who yelled at Josh for cheating, accidentally letting it slip that she had cancer. She apologized to Josh and later continued to work on finding dirt on Jessi and with Declan's help, found out that it was Jessi who attacked Lori at the alterni-dance. Lori exploded at Emily Hollander after being told the truth.
Hillary came over the Trager residence to help Lori plan her revenge against Jessi,but quickly became annoyed by Lori and Declan's constant arguing. She decided to play psychiatrist, but came to no avail. She complained to Nicole that she's no good at helping people, but at least she wasn't a "dumb blond".
Hillary returned when the semester started, still with her dream to be on camera. She uploaded one of her news reports to the school website, only to be infuriated with a blurred Jessi appearing in the background jumping off the school building unharmed. Hilary called the mystery jumper a fraud in her next video and Jessi decides to run across the water in her next broadcast, this time sticking around long enough for her face to be seen.
Hillary was even more infuriated that Jessi took her limelight and demanded to know how she did it. She and her camera boy goad her into doing it again in front of a crowd, but Kyle uses his water magnetism to pull Jessi back down before she can jump, solidifying her reputation as a fraud.
Hillary appeared briefly during Amanda and Kyle's date at The Rack to serve her own food, since the food at the Rack wasn't romantic enough.
