Andy met Josh Trager at The Rack, but he was too busy to even notice her. She popped up in the high school boys bathroom trying to get good internet reception for her favorite game G-Force. She introduced herself to Josh before leaving the bathroom as Andy J, his favorite opponent on G-Force.
Andy hung out with Josh at the diner and showed off her skill of matching people to their cars. When asked, Andy said that his car would be a hearse. Andy later reluctantly gave Josh dating lessons, because he knows very little about girls. When they're sitting in his car talking and Josh reveals the reason he asked the girl out (her cup size) she gets a painful headache. But When he got stood up by his date, she decided not to let all her work go to waste and took the date.
Later, Andy was confronted by Josh about "having a secret burning desire to ask him to the dance" but he cant go because he was banned from the dance. She says she didn't have a desire and says she has multiple dates for the dance. She becomes infuriated when Principal Hooper refused same-sex couples at the dance and decided to protest. Josh, Lori, Kyle, Amanda, and Hillary joined and were banned from the dance. During the dance she talks to Josh by the trash cans and he seems a little homophobic. But after the dance he says her dates were pretty cool, even though they were gay, and Andy gave Josh a kiss on the cheek.
Andy joins the other kids on their camping trip to the woods near Victor Falls, and remains on the surface with Josh. They stayed out until dark and got in the car to hide from the cold. Andy and Josh realized the other person was acting weird and Andy admitted she had cancer while Josh admitted he had feelings for her. Andy later told Josh to forget about it.
Josh tried to stay merry around Andy, but she insisted that he not talk to her about the cancer. Josh tells his mother, who empathizes and tells him to wait until she's ready. Andy decided to tell Josh that the test results weren't good. Josh stood by her and gave her a Popsicle.
Andy showed up at a Cancer Charity event where Josh approached her and he went, after talking to her, to try to win the Hybrid. Nicole Trager talked to her about her cancer. When Andy found out that Josh payed sixty-five dollars to enter the competition, she came to the tent and yelled at Josh, revealing to the crowd that she had cancer, and ran out of the tent crying, making Josh give up his spot. Later, Andy apologized, giving him an "I'm with cancer girl" shirt before kissing him.
Later on, Andy comes to the Trager Home to play G-Force with Josh. She tells him that it is their last day together, and soon, Andy tries to get Josh to touch her body parts but Josh said no, because she kept telling him that it was their last day. Josh left Andy in his bed and went to play G-Force. Andy later came down and said that their would be many more days to play G-Force.
Andy, much to Josh's surprise, showed up at the Madacorp fundraiser. Josh had forgotten that they had made a date to eat all the food until they puked. The began to eat as much food as they could until Andy demanded to know what Josh was hiding from her. Josh spouted out random secrets about himself to keep from telling Andy about Kyle before throwing up in the bushes.
At the career fair that the school, Josh is uninterested, but Andy is surprisingly caring about her future since she no longer worries about the cancer, also sporting a wig to see if it's any good for she goes in for chemo. She orders Josh to care more about his future before deciding the blond wig wasn't for her.
